BBC Breakfast: The Prince of Wales Calls Sir Kevin Sinfield a Top Bloke

A rare personal tribute

The Prince of Wales told BBC Breakfast that knighting Sir Kevin Sinfield was probably the easiest decision anyone has ever had to make, the BBC reported. He added that Sir Kevin should have been knighted years ago.

Why it reached prime time

The interview fed into Thank You Sir Kev, a BBC One documentary that aired on Monday night and is on iPlayer. Sir Kevin recently ran seven ultramarathons in seven days for motor neurone disease charities, in memory of his friend Rob Burrow.

What the record shows

The quotes come from the BBC's own interview. The prince praised the lack of ego in Sir Kevin's work. Anything beyond that is commentary, not confirmation.
