BBC News: Final James Bond Screen Tests Are Reported for This Weekend

Auditions, reportedly

The final screen tests to choose the next James Bond are reported to be taking place this weekend, BBC News said, citing trade reports. Jack Lowden, Callum Turner and Josh O'Connor are among the names mentioned.

Why the shortlist matters

Only six actors have played 007 in the official series, and the last new Bond was announced in 2005. Denis Villeneuve is directing, with Steven Knight writing.

Verified versus whispered

Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed casting is under way but offered no further comment. The names come from unnamed sources, and Deadline said there is no timeline for a decision.
