Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Britain will provide RAF refuelling support to Saudi jets operating against Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen.

He framed the move as his first major foreign-policy call and said restoring oil flows would ease the cost of living.

The decision was taken on advice from Defence Secretary Wes Streeting and Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, papers reported.
