Princess of Wales Chooses Emilia Wickstead Green for Prince George’s First Day at Eton

School-run tailoring in Berkshire
The Princess of Wales wore a leafy-green Emilia Wickstead dress when she took Prince George to Eton College for the start of his first term. Green has appeared often in her 2026 wardrobe, including Wimbledon and the Commonwealth Games.
William attended Eton from 1995 to 2000. Photographs of George in uniform were issued after the drop-off. Catherine did not copy the blue tailoring Princess Diana wore on William’s first day.
A British house on a public morning
Emilia Wickstead is a London designer who also appears on the forthcoming London Fashion Week schedule. The dress read as autumn daywear rather than a coat-dress of state.
Style coverage treated the look as a template for September dressing: a mid-length dress in a deep seasonal colour, minimal jewellery, and a closed-toe shoe.
